With summer ending, the focus tend to shift towards more serious records. The release schedule really amps up in September and October as artists try to get ahead of the blockbuster releases of the holiday season. Both Lizzo and Tyler, The Creator albums were released digitally earlier this year so the anticipation of the having them vinyl release was madness. We saw many closet country fans come out to pick up the incredible soundtrack to Ken Burns PBS mini-series “Country Music”.

For reissues it continues to be all about 1994 with both Oasis and The Tragically Hip releases charting well. What an stellar year in music. So many modern classics celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Who knew there would be so much interest in Macy Grey’s 1999 album? We had to chase this one!

Orville Peck is currently our best selling album of 2019 – can our boy hold on to his crown over the next 2 months? Billie Eilish is our #2 album of the year with just a slight distance behind Orville’s “Pony”. Will Billie’s expected holiday sales surge get her to the #1 spot on our year end charts? Time will tell!
